Dear Friends,
Happy New Year and welcome to 2023!
Our theme for this year is Amazing Grace. As Paul so eloquently states in Ephesians 2:8,
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.”
It is grace that restores us to relationship with God through Jesus Christ. And it is grace that propels us forward in this ministry.
Our vision is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with prisoners and their families. God’s grace is for everyone, no matter their past, their failings, their sin or their crime. God’s grace is focussed not on what we have or haven’t done, but on what Jesus has achieved for us on the cross.
It is God’s amazing grace that fuels this ministry and I’m excited to continue in partnership with you as we set bold goals for the next few years.
By 2025, we want to
- Reach 50% of Australia’s prison population
- Mentor 120 children of prisoners and provide 12,000 Angel Tree gifts annually
- Release 2250 volunteers around the country!
These are big numbers, and we cannot do this alone. Please join me in faithful prayer this year as we seek to share the gospel with inmates and their families across Australia.
I’m excited to announce that we’re moving our annual Week of Prayer event from September to February. It’s a great way to kick off the new year, consider what’s ahead for 2023, and to devote all our efforts to God our Father, without whom, our labour is in vain.
I hope you will join me as we gather together during the week of February 19-26 to pray for those whom we serve: prisoners and their families.
God Bless,
Glen Fairweather | CEO, Prison Fellowship Australia
