Forgiveness can help heal even the most broken of people. A brand new program, The Forgiveness Project invites inmates to witness the power and freedom of forgiveness. Covering skills like truth-telling, apologising, and taking responsibility, participants are helped to understand the impact of unforgiveness and take tangible steps towards forgiveness in their own lives.

We all experience hurt, but sometimes those hurts can take root deep in our lives. Choosing forgiveness helps us to move forward and flourish, rather than being held back by unforgiveness. This one-day, hands-on course gives prisoners the opportunity to confront their own pain, reflect on the wrongs they have committed, and discover the truth of God’s grace and its ability to set us free. It invites them to embrace the freedom that forgiveness offers; freedom to change their lives for the better.

Forgiveness needs to be clearly understood, in order to do it well and experience the wholeness it can bring. Using the experience of Danny and Leila Abdallah, who lost three of their children to a alcohol-and-drug-affected driver in February 2020, The Forgiveness Project teaches inmates how to take charge of their feelings and apply the lessons they have learned as they move forward in their journey.
